Legendary New Jersey thrashers OVERKILL will join forces with DESTRUCTION, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM and MESHIAAK for the "Killfest Tour 2019" next March. Commented OVERKILL vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth: "One more fucking time! Let the the shit fall away and the metal rule the day. OVERKILL comes to Europe in March 2019 on the release of the new album. So get your necks ready, boys and girls; it's going to be dangerous!" Schmier from DESTRUCTION adds: "Touring with some of the most influential American thrash icons is always a pleasure. We became good friends over all those years. I'm happy we are ALL still around and we can thrash Europe together. Also, some of the Australian boys from MESHIAAK have toured with us Down Under before with their predecessor band 4ARM. What an intense family reunion…hahaha! This is undoubtedly a killer package for the enthusiastic European metal fans for sure. We will present DESTRUCTION in fantastic form and with a terrific new drummer!" Tour dates: March 08 - IT - Bologna - Zona Roveri March 09 - IT - Bergamo Palosco - Arcadia March 10 - DE - -München - Backstage March 14 - DE Berlin - Columbia Theater March 16 - DE - Osnabrück - Hyde Park March 17 - DE - Frankfurt - Batschkapp March 20 - FR - Paris - Trabendo March 21 - UK - London - O2 Academy March 22 - UK - Hammerfest March 23 - IR - Dublin - O2 Academy March 24 - UK - Glasgow - SWG3 OVERKILL recently entered the studio to begin recording the follow-up to 2017's "The Grinding Wheel" album. The disc will mark the band's recording debut with drummer Jason Bittner (SHADOWS FALL, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM), who joined OVERKILL last year. OVERKILL's next album is tentatively scheduled to arrive in February 2019. The band released the "Live In Overhausen" DVD and Blu-Ray on May 18 via Nuclear Blast. The set was recorded two years ago in Oberhausen, Germany, where OVERKILL celebrated the 25th anniversary of "Horrorscope" and 30th anniversary of "Feel The Fire" by performing both albums in their entirety. Longtime DESTRUCTION drummer Wawrzyniec "Vaaver" Dramowicz left the band at the end of March due to family reasons. Vaaver, who joined DESTRUCTION in 2010, took some time off from the road in 2015 to be with his family following the birth of his second child. He was temporarily replaced by former PRIMAL FEAR and ANNIHILATOR drummer Randy Black. Black is once again sitting behind the kit for DESTRUCTION until the band decides who will be Vaaver's "worthy successor." DESTRUCTION last year released a new "best-of-old-school" album, "Thrash Anthems II", via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2007's "Thrash Anthems" once again featured re-recorded versions of some of the band's timeless classics. Photo credit: Stephanie Cabral
